A big change in climate may have an effect on the canvas, though the effect can usually be fixed by retightening the canvas to the stretcher bars or applying a small amount of spritzed water to the back of the canvas, which will contract the canvas as it dries.

Suncadia Hill – oil on canvas – 12″ x 12″ – 2022

This original oil painting is based upon a photo I took while in Suncadia, Washington, celebrating a friend’s birthday one mid-Spring weekend. The scenery struck me as unique and nostalgic, with a warm breeze and early sunlight casting long shadows across the ground. I really enjoy the movement and rhythms that this composition creates.
