A big change in climate may have an effect on the canvas, though the effect can usually be fixed by retightening the canvas to the stretcher bars or applying a small amount of spritzed water to the back of the canvas, which will contract the canvas as it dries.

This original oil painting is based upon a photo I took while in Anacortes, Washington, celebrating our anniversary one mid-August weekend. I loved the way the rocks spread out over the water, with the tree jutting out even further.
