I was born and raised in the foothills of Washington state, near forests, streams, rivers, and mountains, with ample inspiration surrounding me - I was just blind to it (getting kind of philosophical, here).
Drawing had me at "Hello," and I spent countless hours and hundreds of unfinished pieces engaged in it. It followed me into college, where I side-stepped into oil painting and digital art, at Seattle Pacific University (BFA) and DigiPen Institute of Technology (MFA), respectively.
With these varied experiences under my belt, I returned to normal life and began to see the world in a different lens. Instead of feeling the need to conceptualize and reinvent as so many contemporary artists do, I was drawn to the simplicity of observation and reflection (not that all of these ideas exist within vacuums).
And that's where I am right now. I'll probably continue to evolve and discover new ways of doing old things. I hope you find some things you like seeing and that my work can speak to you in a simple, open, and honest way.
